Highland Park Cask Strength Realese No.5

Cask Strength Release No.5 opens with complex and spicy aromas of dried cloves, fresh oregano, crushed pine needles and lingering wood smoke. Deliciously intense flavours of sun-dried fruits follow – prunes, dates and sultanas – reflecting the influence of the Pedro Ximénez casks, while the first-fill European oak casks provide aromatic hints of liquorice and winter spices balanced by cocoa nibs and light oak from the ex-bourbon casks. A delightfully fragrant and smoky finish lingers on notes of sherried fruits and sweet spices.
Matured predominantly in first-fill, sherry-seasoned European oak casks – including Pedro Ximénez casks – plus refill casks, ex-bourbon casks and a small quantity of first-fill, sherry-seasoned American oak casks, all hand selected by Gordon Motion, our Master Whisky Maker

Cask Strength Release No.4 uses a proportion of ex-port casks which deliver a subtle pink hue and delicious notes of Turkish Delight to the whisky. ABV was 64.3%
